The Rupert I Maynard Youth Community Center is the brain child of the youth organizations of St. Maarten. Conceived in the early 1990’s, the project took over ten years to be realized. Phase I was funded by the Fund for Social Development and Economic Activities, with the furnishings funded by Stichting Katholieke Noden.

 

Phase I included six office spaces, a conference room, member center, a twenty bed youth hostel and an auditorium with kitchen and shower facilities.

 

Phase II included the finishing work on a second story multi-purpose hall with an adjacent meeting/classroom and an extension of the member center. Phase II was financed by the Samenwerkende Fondsen, specifically Stichting Katholieke Noden and the Oranjefonds.

 

 

 

 

 

The Rupert I Maynard Youth Community Center boasts two air-conditioned auditoriums.

 

Auditorium1, which seats up to 100 persons theater-style is available at a rate of $40.00 or ANG. 72.00 per hour. Auditorium1 may also be reserved with the adjacent Kitchen at a rate of $50.00 or ANG.90.00 per hour.

 

Auditorium2 is located on the second floor and can accommodate up to 150 persons. Auditorium 2 is available at a rate of $ 50 per hour.

 

Tables and chairs are available for both locations.

 

Having a small meeting or class? The Conference Room is available for meetings of up to 16 persons, or classes of 12 students. Rate: $ 20.00 or ANG. 36.00.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Center contains four air-conditioned bedrooms, each with adjoining bathroom. Two rooms sleep six persons on bunk-beds, and two sleep four persons. With the addition of inflatable beds, the total sleeping capacity is thirty.

 

Rates: $20.00 per person per night.

 

Group rate (minimum 10 persons): $15.00 per person per night.

 

Please bring your own linens or we will provide them at a rate of $5 per bed.

 

The kitchen is available at $25 per day.

 

For your group’s added security, an optional Guard Service is available at $30 per night.

 

Our E-Learning Center currently caters to up to ten students at one sitting. It is home to STAR After-School Program’s IT Program and the Kids' IT Club on Saturdays.

 

Internet Café services are available at $2.00 per hour.
